The Lake District is an extraordinary place that begets a tranquil state of mind to the viewer of its calm lakes, pastoral farmlands, and craggy summits. The smell of earthy dank petrichor melded with the sound of singing water flowing and dancing gracefully through becks and down gills is almost inebriating. Following in the steps of Alfred Wainwright, I have set myself the challenge of completing all 214 fells literated in his seven-volume pictorial guide to the Lakeland Fells. To track my progress I have created an interactive map. Click on the mountain icons for a surprise!
